Take a Breather with The Popcorn Lady!
A lot of companies say they have a fast-paced environment…newsflash- we live in a fast-paced world! There is always something to constantly think or worry about, no matter what your job title is or what your personal situation may be. And that can be a lot to clutter your brain, especially during the winter season where it’s easy to get down in the dumps.
I know I know, it’s ironic to mention “winter blues” when I was just saying how much I love the season. I do love Winter! I also realize it’s easier not to feel so hot when the days are shorter and there’s not too much sunshine to enjoy, so much so that there’s a general phrase for it!
Some of my favorite things to do in the winter, not Christmas-related, are to find cozy activities to do with friends and family and also take time for myself to curate my creativity! Whether that’s watching one of my favorite movies, snacking on some delicious popcorn, or working on craft projects- they all lift my mood and keep me busy!
Speaking of, one of my New Year's resolutions is to complete some craft projects I started years ago. One of them is a scrapbook for all of the pictures I took during my senior year of college, and let me tell you- it has been a long process. But I've recently started dedicating more time to it and found myself really enjoying taking a breather from all the stress and strife of life to glue things to a page. It doesn’t sound like much, and it isn't- that's the point. We live in a fast-paced society, and constantly thinking about what's next on our to-do list or what’s needed from your job makes it easier to get a case of the winter blues. When I’m scrapbooking, I get to look back at fun memories, remember friends who are no longer close by, and reminisce about my time in college, where I gained so much knowledge about the world and the people in it.
A creative mind is a great mind for all businesses and industries. No matter what you do professionally, having a curious mind and the ability to think outside the box is a net positive. There are a lot of benefits, just like there are a lot of creative activities to partake in! Being more creative improves your problem-solving abilities, keeps your mind agile, and provides a moment of calm. There are tons of activities you can dip your toe in, you never know what you may enjoy; drawing, writing, doodling, pottery and woodworking classes, going to an escape room with friends, and much more!
Here at The Popcorn Lady, we want you to take a breather, find 1 creative thing to do this week, and enjoy some popcorn.
